You can add a beer to one of your beer lists by visiting the beer's page (e.g.
by selecting a beer from the search results page), and then clicking
on "Discuss" at the right top of the page. You can add the beer to
your "to taste" or "tasted" beer list. Note that you can choose whether your
review of the beer (and possibly the score) will be visible for everyone or only
to yourself.
You can export a beer list by clicking on the "Excel" icon to the right
of the beer list's name (see picture below). You can also print the
beer list in a readable format by clicking on the "printer" icon.
The recommendation of beers is done via two heuristics. In the
first heuristic, we base ourselves on similarities between
beers from your beer lists and other beers in the database (e.g. category,
alcohol percentage, fermentation method, etc); if similar beers are found,
they will be recommended to you. For the second heuristic, we base ourselves on
your own beer taste (derived from your beer lists) and the beer tastes of other
users. If another user with a similar beer taste has given some beers
(not yet occurring in your beer lists) a high score, those beers will also be
recommended to you. Click here for more
information about this function.
This form field works with an autocomplete function. When you start to type
(part of) the brewery name (e.g. "alken"), a list will appear with matching
breweries (e.g. "Brouwerij van Alken"). Subsequently, you should select one
of the breweries from this list. If this automatic completion does not occur, it
means that either the brewery does not yet exist in our database, or the brewery
name is typed incorrectly (e.g. a variation on the name in our database). In
either case, we suggest you first use the search function to lookup the brewery.
If the brewery does not yet exist, you should first add it to the system.
