Welcome to BeersFromBelgium.eu, a website with a vast repository of information
on our rich Belgian beer heritage.
Our website is built around a search function, which allows you to look
for Belgian beers, breweries and cafes in either a simple or advanced way (e.g.
via name, alcohol percentage, category, region, ..).
If you sign up, you also get access to the
following:
Add new beers, breweries and cafes;
Post scores and reviews of tasted beers and visited cafes;
Based on these scores, the website can recommend beers to you!
Click here for more information about this website.
Finally, belgischebieren.eu is also available in English! Since we
did not want to use two different domains, we changed the general URL of the website
to beersfrombelgium.eu. However, this does not mean that the Belgian character of
our website has been lost! On the contrary, this name change also allows a more
international audience to discover our fantastic Belgium beer heritage.
Since it was not feasible to translate all individual beer descriptions
(and for instance brewery histories), we have made available a "translation"
feature for each text not in the user's own language (be it English or Dutch),
placed nearby the text. Also, when adding new beers or breweries, both English and
Dutch descriptions can be entered (of course, it is not mandatory to provide
descriptions in both languages).
And by the way, happy newyear everybody! :)
Bells from Rome 15/04/2011 at 12:05
The Bells from Rome (Belgian version of the easter bunny)
are visiting BeersFromBelgium.eu, and instead of easter eggs they are dropping a
special (beer) load!

Users can now also send personal messages on the website.
Hopefully, this will allow beer lovers and collectors alike to connect more
easily.
New features 16/10/2010 at 12:10
BeersFromBelgium.eu has some new features! In addition to
beers and breweries, the website now also supports cafes. Our search function
has been extended to look for cafes across Belgium, and users can post reviews
of cafes they have visited. Moreover, regular users can now add new beers, breweries
and cafes with a great degree of detail. And maybe most importantly: for each cafe,
the user can specify which beers are available (on tap or bottled). This way, everyone
can contribute to the fastest growing beer database in Belgium.
New layout 06/05/2010 at 22:10
The website got a serious makeover! The new
menu and "online" user list are most apparent, but also other pages have been
updated. For instance: the search results now also include thumbnails of
the found beers (idem for the user list), and visitors can see which beers
and breweries have been recently added / edited under "recent updates". It's
also possible to "like" any beer or brewery, and share it with your friends on
Facebook.
Extending the database + new website features (Google Maps!) 10/03/2010 at 23:00
We have added a whole bunch of new beerlables (+- 1800), and
would like to thank our users for gratiously providing us
these labels! Furthermore, we have extended our database with
about 300 beers and a dozen new breweries. Now, we also keep
which beers are now longer being brewn - these are thus not
removed from the database, and can still be found using the
search function. The brewery pages have also undergone
changes. For each brewery, we specifically mention which beers
are actually brewn by the brewery, and which ones are brewn
under contract (i.e., actual brewing occurs by another
brewery). Furthermore, each brewery page now also contains a
map (Google Map) displaying the location of the brewery; if
you are registered and logged in, you can also request a
route description from your home address to the brewery.
